Daniel Mangelsdorf is Managing Partner of SDI Communications. Dan draws upon his breadth of experience in Operations, Sales, Marketing, New Product Development, and Information Technology when supporting clients in developing breakthrough strategies and then bringing about the necessary development to reliably fulfill these strategies. His experience in a wide range of functional areas across a variety of industries, as well as his experience working with large global companies and small entrepreneurial companies, allows him to bring informed and unique insights to clients.
Prior to joining SDI Communications in 2002, Dan spent five years as a sales and marketing executive with Nortel Networks, a telecommunications equipment supplier. His tenure included the position of VP, Global Marketing for the Service Provider Voice Business, a business unit with $4B per year in revenue. During his time, Nortel Networks became a market leader for the next generation of voice switching equipment using Internet technology. He was also a steering committee member of Nortel’s leadership development program and a mentor in the female executive mentoring program.
Before joining Nortel Networks, Dan held several senior leadership positions with NetEdge Systems, which included responsibility for new product introduction, global planning & logistics, and sales engineering. Prior to joining NetEdge, Dan held positions in Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing at Solectron, Baker Oil Tools, and Sun Microsystems.
Dan holds a B.S.C. from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from Rice University. He is based in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina and is married with three children.
