Liza Herschel,
Senior Consultant
Liza Herschel is a Senior Consultant with SDI Communications. Liza joined SDI in 2007 after 4 years of intensive study and practice in the methodology of coaching leadership and high performance.
Before joining SDI, Liza was Senior Director at ZAMWorks, a marketing and media firm based in New York City, from 2000 – 2007. ZAMWorks develops innovative marketing and branding for nature-based organizations. Liza was the primary liaison to zoos, aquariums and other nature based groups throughout North America, Europe, Africa and the Philippines. She also directed the development and national distribution of a unique conservation curriculum for middle school students. At ZAMWorks, Liza put her coaching into practice daily and developed staff that now runs the program she created.
Prior to Zamworks, Liza was the Assistant Director of Conservation Education at the American Zoo and Aquarium Association from 1998-2000. There she coordinated the national-level professional activities and development of conservation educators in accredited zoos and aquariums throughout North America. Before AZA, she worked at several zoos in various roles in education, including Curator at the Baltimore Zoo for six years.
Liza graduated from Brown University with a degree in Political Science and did graduate study at Antioch University in Environmental Education.
Liza is currently on the Board of the Professional Women’s Roundtable in Philadelphia, PA, an organization whose mission it is to provide networking, leadership, educational and personal growth opportunities to a diverse group of emerging women business leaders in the Philadelphia region.
Liza is also a theatre and film actress performing in community productions in the Philadelphia area where she lives with her husband and two children.
